The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP) emphasizes the internationalization of higher education and encourages global exposure. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced a framework for academic collaboration between Indian and foreign higher education institutions to offer twinning, joint degree, and dual degree programmes. In line with this vision, the Institute of International Study offers international programmes that provide students with a strong academic foundation during the first two years at Nirma University. Students then transfer to a partner university in the US or Canada for the final two years, gaining exposure to advanced technologies, global environments, and professional opportunities. Graduates of this programme are well-prepared for successful global careers.
The Institute of International Study offers pathways for students to gain the best of both worlds: building strong fundamentals while also accessing rich foreign resources, advanced technologies, and global perspectives. This experience broadens their vision, encourages them to think beyond academics, and prepares them to thrive in a globally competitive environment.
Graduates of the dual degree programmes become highly versatile and well-regarded in the international job market. They acquire valuable knowledge and skills that ensure a secure future, whether they choose to start their own business or work with multinational companies. The programme sharpens their thinking, shapes their professional identity, and provides a competitive edge in today’s technology-driven world.
