  • ALL INDIA CATEGORY
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Planning, or Civil Engineering, or Architecture (from any University/ Institutions in India or Abroad or its equivalent recognized by the Government of India); OR
    2. Master’s degree in Economics, or Sociology, or Geography (from any University / Institution in India or Abroad recognized by the Government of India). OR
    3. Other qualifications or experience which the ITPI Council may accept from time to time as equivalent to the above after considering the background, training and experience of a candidate individually.
  • NRI(SELF)
    1. The 15% seats of intake shall be filled by Institute of Architecture & Planning, Nirma University under the category of NRI / NRI Sponsored seats from the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from abroad for NRI(SELF) and in India (including Gujarat State) for NRI Sponsored and having valid degree.
    2. In case, Letter Grade / Performance Index or Graded Point Average is awarded instead of percentage marks in qualifying examination, equivalence certificate is mandatorily required from the competent authority.
  • NRI SPONSORED CANDIDATE
    1. Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination. The admission will be granted based on the merit list prepared on the basis of criteria as decided by the institute/university.
    2. Candidate will have to produce a sponsorship letter (as prescribed on institute’s website “Affidavit”) from an NRI who will undertake to pay all tuition and other fees for the entire duration of degree programme.
    3. Documentary evidence (like residence proof, visa stamp entry in passport, utility bills etc.) of Sponsor having NRI Status must also be produced.
    4. In case, Letter Grade / Performance Index or Graded Point Average is awarded instead of percentage marks in qualifying examination, equivalence certificate is mandatorily required from the school authority.

The candidates will be selected by a process of personal interview by a committee of experts identified and appointed by the Director, IAPNU

The Institute of Architecture is a Constituent Institution of Nirma University, a Statutory University established by the special Act passed by the Gujarat State Assembly. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2 (f) of UGC Act and also accredited by NAAC with Grade ‘A+’. Nirma University was awarded the Centre of Excellence (CoE) status by the Government of Gujarat. In January 2022, the university was conferred CoE status in the International Conference of Academic Institutions, part of the Vibrant Gujarat Education Summit 2022.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Education, Government of India has ranked Institute of Architecture & Planning, Nirma University on 17nd rank in 2024.

The Institute offers a fulltime M.Plan. programme.Institute also offers fulltime & parttime PhD programmes.

The Guidelines given by CoA (Council of Architecture) and ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat

Candidate should have qualified in NATA Examination 2024 and having valid NATA score.No Candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless she/he has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either chemistry or biology or technical vocational subject or computer science or information technology or informatics practices or engineering graphics or business studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.
(The above criteria is subject to amendment as per the guidelines issued by the Council of Architecture (CoA) and Government of Gujarat from time to time Eligibility Criteria as per COA)

NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e., Architecture, through assessment of cognitive skills, visual perception and aesthetic sensitivity tests, logical reasoning and critical thinking ability, etc., besides the learning that the candidate has acquired over the past years.
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by COA since 2006, to qualify for the admission to Bachelor of Architecture. The Council has prescribed CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983 and in the year 2020 the Council has prescribed the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, with the approval of the Central Government in terms of Sections 21 & 45 of the Architects Act, 1972.
Unlike any other entrance examination, NATA is an Aptitude test that assesses a candidate’s ability through a variety of testing formats

We take into consideration 1/4th of the NATA score and 50% aggregate marks of 12th Board exam to prepare the merit score.

Institute has limited hostel facility for the girl students on the campus. We have a mordern hostel building equipped with state of art facilities and amenities.

The Nirma University Campus is on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (SG) Highway. It is about 15 -17 kilometres from the Ahmedabad City. Located on the SG Highway, the High Court of Gujarat is about 7 kilometres away from the University. The University is well connected with the city municipal bus service. Private rickshaw and taxi services are also available from Railway Station, Bus Station or from the Airport.

Campus Placement 2023-24

The Institute of Architecture & Planning at Nirma University initiated campus placements for B.Arch graduates two years ago, significantly enhancing career prospects for its students. The highest placement package offered last year was INR 6 lakhs per annum, with a median package of INR 4.50 lakhs.
