Candidates having B.Tech degree obtained from recognized universities (UGC/AICTE) with minimum 50% or its equivalent CGPA are eligible to apply for admission in M.Tech programme. The students of B.Tech final year (semester VIII) are also eligible to apply.

A student seeking admission to any Programme must fulfil the following criteria:
He/She should have passed the qualifying examination of Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology from a recognized university with minimum percentage of marks as prescribed by AICTE from time to time or equivalent cumulative grade point index.
For calculation of aggregate marks, results of semesters, based on which class of the degree is awarded, will be considered.
Candidates who have appeared for the final semester qualifying examination may also apply. The results of such applicants have to be submitted to Member Secretary, PG-ENGG, immediately on declaration of result, which should be within 30 days of commencement of semester. Failing to do so the admission is liable to be cancelled. However such candidate has to produce a certificate from the Head of the Institute certifying that he / she has already appeared for the examination.
Any candidate who has not appeared in final semester examination at the time of counseling for admission will not be considered for admission.
Applicants having results in terms of CPI/CGPA, have to produce certificate from the concerned University regarding equivalent percentage of marks, on which; class is awarded for the degree.
For all categories, if applicant has passed the qualifying examination from University other than Nirma University, he/she will be required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from Nirma University. The arrangement for obtaining the same will be made on the spot during counseling on payment of ₹ 1000/-.

Scholarship of Rs.12,400/- per month to few GATE qualified candidates may be offered as per Nirma University rules based on merit of admission. In case of non-availability of GATE candidates or if any GATE candidate is not willing to get scholarship, Non-GATE Candidate may be offered scholarship of Rs. 8,000/- per month based on merit of written test conducted by Nirma University. Students availing scholarship of Nirma University have to undertake 8 (Eight) hours of teaching per week including academic / administrative workload as assigned by the Institute.
The continuation of the financial support will be subject to satisfactory performance of the work assigned by the Department as well as satisfactory academic performance (i.e. maintaining SGPA / CGPA of 6.00 and above at the end of each semester) and fulfilment of the other academic and non-academic requirements as per rules.
Students admitted to the institute can get scholarship from various government agencies. Students are informed to see the notice board for such announcement.

The Industry Institute Interaction Cell (III Cell) of Institute of Technology aims to promote closer interaction between the academia and Industries to enhance industry academia relations and facilitate in establishing strong linkages with industries.
