About the Programme

This is a six-year full time Doctor of Pharmacy Programme, leading to the degree of Pharm.D., offered by Institute of Pharmacy under Faculty of Pharmacy, Nirma University. The period of six years duration is divided into two phases:
Phase I - Consisting of First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth academic year.
Phase II - Consisting of internship or residency training during sixth year involving posting in speciality units. It is a phase of training wherein a student is exposed to actual pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy services and acquires skill under supervision so that he or she may become capable of functioning independently.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) is a six year (five years of study and one year of internship or residency) full time with each academic year spread over a period of not less than 200 working days. The period of six years duration is divided into two phases;
Phase I - Consisting of First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth academic year.
Phase II - Consisting of internship or residency training during sixth year involving posting in speciality units. It is a phase of training wherein a student is exposed to actual pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy services and acquires skill under supervision so that he or she may become capable of functioning independently.

Minimum qualification for admission to PharmD Course under Nirma University is A pass in any of the following examinations

  1. 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects, Mathematics or Biology or Both
  2. D.Pharm. course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.
  3. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

Provided that a student should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course

  • After preparation of merit list, IPNU will announce the admission process to be held at IPNU based upon merit list and Candidates will be informed by email and/or website notification.
  • Allotment of seats shall be made on the basis of merit and availability of seats.
  • Students are required to report at the IPNU for conformation of admission and payment of the fees Rs. 2.95 lakh / 5,000* USD or its equivalent INR for the first year on the day of admission through Demand draft/Cheque prepared on the name of Institute of Pharmacy Under Nirma University.
  • In case the seats remain vacant after completion of first round of admission process, such vacant seats will be displayed on official website and next admission round may be conducted.

  2. The Application form fee is INR 1200/- and is non-refundable.
  3. Payment must be made online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
  4. An online payment acknowledgment receipt will be generated and must be uploaded with the application form.
  5. Your application will be considered complete only after successful payment of the application fee and allocation of registration number.
  6. Online application submission on the IPNU website is mandatory for admission.
  7. Candidates must upload self-attested copies of all required certificates along with the application form.
  8. The following documents must be uploaded with the application forms:
    • Marksheet: HSC examination (12th Std-10+2 pattern)
    • Marksheet: SSC Examination (10th Std)
    • School leaving certificate
    • Transfer/Migration certificate (If applicable)
    • Diploma Pharmacy (D.Pharm.) 1st and 2nd year marksheet (if applicable)
    • Any other certificates need to be submitted as the Admission Committee deems necessary
    • All attempt(s) certificates are required in case of more than one trial in SSC and/or HSC Examination(s) and D.Pharm.

  10. All original documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process at the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University.
  11. If any submitted document is found to be incorrect or fraudulent, the admission will be canceled, and legal actions may be taken against the candidate or their parents. In case of any dispute, the decision of the admission committee shall be final.
  12. The merit list will be published as per the announced schedule.

  • Corporate Relation Manager helps each student in exploring placement opportunities by inviting various companies/hospitals for campus recruitment for interested students.
  • Systematic interaction with industry/hospitals, continuous career counseling and grooming of the students for resume writing, mock interview, communication skills, etc.

15% of the total seats are allocated for international students under the Supernumerary categories, including Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and South East Asia (CIWGC-SEA), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals (FN). Among these, 5% of seats are reserved for CIWGC-SEA and 10% for OCI/FN. If the OCI/FN seats are not filled, they become available to CIWGC-SEA applicants.
